2009 Summer and Fall

Lots of things were happening

We just weren't taking many pictures

Period Ending October 2009

No summer dialogue is complete without pictures of the pond.  The fish did well over the winter.  The waterfall kept the water from freezing because it was always moving.  Nice.
Cindy's mom and her friend came down to visit.  we had a great time.  We went to Busch Gardens for the Letterman concert.  They have been around for decades.  The show was great because they have learned how to work a crowd over those years.  We had a great time.

We went to the Indy Car races.  It was the last time they will race in Richmond.  The drivers say they like it, but it is a small oval and very hard to pass.  That makes for a boring race.

We still had a great time tailgating.  The Indy race doesn't have the huge crowds that NASCAR draws, so we were able to just relax and enjoy.

Marty went off on a mission trip to Tri-Cities Work Camp 2009.  I can't believe that the kids get better each year, but this crew was outstanding.  I learned lots of new games like Skittles.  And I learned one new song that I will never forget.  It is not that I loved "Im a Cat, Im a Kitty Cat".  It just got burned into my memory after hearing it 4,000 times.
Here is the picture we framed and gave to our resident.  He was great and his friend was a big help also.  I have been back to visit and I hope to see him at Christmas.

Above this line you can see a couple pictures from Dave and Ann's Cross Country Adventure.  We were only one stop on their multi-week many-state trip from California.  I think we were the most fun though.

Cindy had her first ever Treasure Hunt for her birthday.  It is a game we normally play with the kids.  When packages are too big to wrap, we give them a bunch of clues to follow to find the present.

Cindy got her first clue and it sent her upstairs.  after that we sent her back downstairs near the fireplace.  She really didn't see the bike until we pointed it out.

After it all, she was tickled to get the bike.

The Celtic Festival.  Big men throwing things and plenty of unusual foods.  Of course, you can't have a Celtic festival without putting ferrets down your pants.  Our friend Scot even had his own booth this year.

Cindy thought wearing two Bears jerseys would help.  We hung the flags up, wore jerseys and watched the games.  We are still hopeful for the team this year.
Back to Florida in October for a little visit.  Beautiful weather and a very nice trip.

We went to the Air Show in Virginia Beach with Scott and Diane.  Diane and Scott got to drive the plane because it was their wedding anniversary.  It left me free to take pictures.  You can see below that Diane got a little close to the ground as we flew along the beach.

Well, that is about it for the Summer and Fall.  We didn't put any boat pictures in, even though we did get out.  It was a very busy summer.
