Hurricane Isabel

These pictures highlight the aftermath of Hurricane Isabel.

Oak Tree on Fence

The fence was something else! At the top of the property, a huge oak fell on the corner of the fence. But the fence held, even if it did get pounded into the ground an extra foot. I am going to sell this picture to the guy that built it. He can buy it for advertising.

Tree Limbs on Shed

Looking back at the shed, you can see even more trees have fallen. Nothing broke through the shed, but the rood stopped one limb right by the crotch. Poor tree.

Walking the Lot

Lars took this picture of Marty checking out the damage. There is a pool where the roots ripped out of the ground. Places look like they are solid, but you sink in because the roots aren't there any more.

The good news is that we all lived through it. The house is safe and we just have to clean up. We are better off then many others. We are thankful for all we still have.

Fallen Trees

We had a very windy night. Caitlin chose a strange night to have a guest over, but Sarah stayed with us last night. We spent most of the night waiting for the trees to fall.

Broken Fence

On the south side of the shed, a big tree did shed a limb the pretty much smashed the fence apart. It is the only breach where the dogs can get out. Henry is too scared by other stuff to go back there.
