| Marty finally graduated. It was a long time coming and meant
some real sacrifices. The sacrifices were paid by him and his family.

But with the sacrifice comes appreciation. I could not help
smiling with all my family surrounding me.
|
| Oddly enough, while Marty's folks visited, his cousins Ron and
Sally happened to roll through Virginia. It was very touch and go, because
plans with their family kept changing. Finally, a few cell phone calls and
careful directions got Ron and Sally safely to the front door. We had Lars
on the step above Ron so he would still feel tall. But it isn't too far off
when I think he might be for real. |

Mom had enough time to kiss a visiting dog. They really seem
to get along well, don't they? |
| And all too soon, we are standing back on the front porch and
saying good bye. It is sad that it was so quick. But we look forward to
the next visit, here or there. |

This is a picture I remember from my childhood. As we all piled
into the blue Plymouth and backed into the alley, Grandpa Vik snapped a picture.
It would always be ready the next time we visited. |
| Of course that is not the only thing that happened in May. Lars
went to prom with Michelle. Next year I guess I will take two pictures.
