Winter Time

Our Christmas wish for you

Period Ending Christmas, 2002

Some of these pictures go back as far as Halloween time.  It is also the time that Kate got confirmed.  Here, she posed in front of the house on the way to church.  She is all dressed up and looking pretty grown up.
She also spends some time with her friends at church.  Together, we tried to stay up all night, playing games and watching TV.  I stayed up until 2 am.  Pretty damn good for an old man.  (I don't know how late Caitlin was awake)
Lars finished up the soccer season with a win at the Midlothian Tournament.  It was not an easy season, but Lars did great.
A couple of horse pictures.  You can see that the leaves are falling or turning brown.  These pictures are taken just before Thanksgiving.  The grass stays green and that is sure different than in Illinois!  Jack likes the cold weather but was a good boy for the girls on this day.

I rode the motorcycle out to the barn and enjoyed one of the last rides of the season.

Rappi wakes up after a long nap.  She smells Lars cooking bacon in the kitchen.

At the beginning of December we got about 5 inches of snow.  At the end of the snowfall, it warmed up enough to be a drizzle.  That caused a 1/2 inch layer of ice to form on top of the snow.  That is a quick way to close Virginia schools for a few days.
We had started the Christmas decorations and the snow seemed to make it seem just perfect.  it was a day for fireplaces and hot chocolate.
Cindy and Henry are too tired from working all day.  They needed to take a nap under the Christmas tree.
As we started to get the other Christmas decorations ready, Henry just couldn't resist the opportunity to jump up in a lap.  He doesn't care if we get things done as long as we hold him.  He knows what is important.
And we hope that you know what is important also.  Here is our Christmas wish for you.

We hope that you have enough of everything.  Enough money to spend some on your friends.  Enough things to share with people that have less.  And enough time to enjoy those things most dear, family friends and life.

May God bless you and keep you now and throughout the New Year.
