We Have Been So Busy

We forgot to write or have fun

Period Ending August 10, 2002

Here is our new house in all of it's glory.  The pictures on this page were taken about one month after we moved in.  There are still boxes in the garage and the living room.  There is a little grass out front, but that should all be gone soon with the drought and heat we are having.  The driveway just barely fits the two cars.  More on that later.
Here is the inside of the house.   The great room has the ceiling fan up.  I still have to mount them in Kate's room, the middle bedroom and the master.  We all think the TV looks a little small, but we will wait a bit to replace it with something that fills the hole.

Cindy is caught cleaning up the kitchen.  We really do love the kitchen and the nook.  We can see outside into our woods.

The two pictures below show the before and after pictures with the fence.  It gives a little more definition to the yard.  More important, we can let the dogs out and they love to wander.
This gives a better view of the fence.  (You get a better view of our dieing grass.)  The fence is really very well made.  The corners are 6x6 posts and the double gate is custom made.  It is something I would have tackled a few years ago.  But I can really tell a quality difference between this fence and the one I created and installed at the last house.
Remember that thing about the two cars.  Some of you may know that the Jeep Wrangler is missing from this picture.  That is because Lars got in an accident at 65 mph on the way home from work one night.  He flipped the Jeep over on it's top, but it did not continue to tumble.  At that speed it should have.  Maybe it was the unexpected rain we got that day.  I was going to take the top off, but decided to wait.  There are a lot of coincidences, but for some reason Lars is still alive against the odds.  The blue Jeep Liberty is the car we got to replace the Wrangler.  We love it.  Lars does not get to drive it.  He only gets to pose.  His car is the one on the right.  It is a Nissan Sentra.  My dad bought it for me so I could let Lars drive it.  Thank you dad, that is a great gift.  Lars and I drove back from Florida.  It was a great treat for me to spend that time with my son.

Lars is still on restricted driving like a learner's permit.  We want him to get more experience because we feel it contributed to the crash.  But at the same time, we don't want him to drive alone because we came too close to losing him.  It is not easy having kids.

Well, that is about it.  We have spent our days unpacking and working in the yard.  If we have any fun in August we will let you know.  We are looking forward to some vacation time at the end of the month.  We are also looking forward to seeing Rick and Ranae Eugene.  They said they were thinking about vacationing in Virginia next year.  We'll have the spare bedroom and the boat ready when you get here!
